Elgin's official calendars list very little for October 2026. The Chamber of Commerce shows a members' meeting and a citywide garage sale. The City of Elgin shows City Council and Municipal Court. The rest of the month's weekends come from businesses with their own schedules: one brewery on Commerce Drive and two pumpkin patches outside town, in Fletcher and Apache. Each runs on its own clock, and planning a weekend means lining those clocks up.
What the official calendars actually list
The Elgin Chamber's community calendar for October shows two entries. One is the Monthly Chamber Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. The other is the City Wide Garage Sale on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16–17. For November, the Chamber has posted another meeting on Nov. 10 at the same time.
The City of Elgin's October calendar lists a City Council meeting and Municipal Court dates. As of the first weekend of the month, it shows no fall festival, Halloween event or holiday kickoff. The Chamber calendar has no Halloween entry for October either. Churches and community groups may still post trunk-or-treat dates later in the month. Nothing was published on either official calendar when this was written.
That leaves the garage sale as the only October public event on Elgin's official calendars. Everything else comes from businesses that publish their own schedules, and the most predictable of those is on Commerce Drive.
Commerce Drive runs the same week, every week
Rising Eagle Brewery is at 13070 Commerce Dr. in Elgin. Its value on a quiet municipal calendar is that the schedule repeats. Here is the weekly lineup from the brewery's own events calendar:
- Tuesday: Stogies & Stories, plus Board Game Night
- Wednesday: Wine Down Wednesday, 6 to 10 p.m.
- Thursday: Mug Club new-beer releases
- Friday: A new beer release and live music
- Trivia Night: 7 to 9 p.m. The brewery's calendar entry doesn't name the night, so check before you go
Some local event roundups put board games on a different night. The brewery's own calendar says Tuesday, so trust that one over a secondhand listing.
The brewery's biggest fall event has already happened. KSWO reported on Oct. 2 that Rising Eagle would host its 3rd annual Oktoberfest that Saturday, which was Oct. 3. If you missed it, there are still four Friday release nights left in October, on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. Those are the brewery's dependable weekend events for the rest of the month.
Friday nights at Rising Eagle are the one fixed point in town, so every other plan in October hangs off them. The other fixed points are outside Elgin.
Two pumpkin patches outside town, on two different clocks
The two farm patches nearest Elgin don't share a schedule, a price or a style. One is a walk-through exotic animal park that adds pumpkins each fall. The other is a ranch built around a corn maze and active play.

| 2026 season | Oct. 3–31 per TravelOK | Opened Friday, Sept. 25; open through October |

| What sets it apart | Exotic animal encounters, corn bin, climbing structure | Corn maze, hayrides, zip line, tricycle race track |
Snider Family Exotics is a walk-through animal park where visitors can feed, greet and take photos with the animals. For October, it adds a pumpkin field, a corn bin, a climbing structure and photo spots. KSWO's Oct. 2 report on the opening mentioned animal encounters with monkeys and capybaras. TravelOK puts the farm within five miles of both I-44 and US-81. The opening date isn't settled. The farm's own website says "opening October 1st" without a year, while TravelOK lists the 2026 season starting Oct. 3. Either way, it's open now. The listed hours cover only Saturdays and Sundays, so plan for a weekend visit, and call 580-512-5014 if the weather looks iffy.
Bigfoot Ranch in Apache is in its fourth season, according to KLAW. It was the first patch in southwest Oklahoma to open this fall, on Friday, Sept. 25. The farm's site lists pumpkin picking, a corn maze, hayrides, a bounce pad, farm animals, a round-bale maze, volleyball, cornhole, a zip line, a play area and photo spots. KLAW adds a haystack with a tunnel, and says visitors may get a chance to see Bigfoot himself. Bigfoot Ranch posts its days, hours and admission on its Facebook page and website rather than through the travel listings, so check there first. The events page on its website still shows events from October 2025. Don't count on last year's specials coming back on the same dates.
The main difference between them is timing. Snider lists firm weekend hours and a set price. Bigfoot opened earlier and posts updates on its own channels. If you want something you can plan days ahead, Snider is easier. If you want the bigger list of activities, check Bigfoot's page that morning.
Lining up the clocks for the rest of October
With the brewery's weekly schedule, the patches' seasons and the one Chamber event in hand, the rest of the month comes together like this.
- Oct. 9–11. Rising Eagle's Friday release and live music on the 9th. Snider's Saturday and Sunday hours on the 10th and 11th. Bigfoot Ranch's posted hours that weekend.
- Oct. 16–18. The City Wide Garage Sale runs Friday and Saturday. The Chamber's listing gives no hours, list of addresses or map, so expect to drive around and look for signs. Friday evening is also release night at Rising Eagle, which makes a natural stop after a day of yard sales. Saturday the 17th, the garage sale and Snider's hours fall on the same day.
- Oct. 23–25. Another Friday release night. This is the second-to-last weekend of Snider's 2026 season.
- Oct. 30–31. Friday the 30th is the last October release night at Rising Eagle. Saturday the 31st is Halloween and also the last day of Snider's season on TravelOK. Bigfoot Ranch is open through October, but check its Facebook page for that last weekend's hours.
The Oct. 16–17 weekend is the only one this month where a town-wide Elgin event lines up with both the brewery's Friday night and the Saturday patch hours. If you can only do one full fall weekend, that's the one.
By November, both patches have finished their seasons. The Chamber meets Nov. 10, and Rising Eagle keeps its weekly schedule.
A few practical notes
- Call ahead in bad weather. Snider's hours are listed as weather permitting, and both farms are outdoor sites on open ground.
- Ask about pumpkin pricing. Admission at Snider includes a mini pumpkin for each child. Neither listing says whether the larger field pumpkins are priced separately or what payment the farms take.
- Check Rising Eagle's calendar before trivia night. The calendar lists the hours but not the night, and secondhand roundups don't agree on the rest of the weekly schedule.
- Set aside the morning for the garage sale. With no official map, finding the sales means driving Elgin's streets and following signs.
